Matt and I had fun taking a few pics of each other during our date the other night.  Some are in Butler Park, which has a GREAT view of the city skyline.  Some others are from Jo’s – where we get our favorite coffee drink…the TURBO!

July 2nd & 3rd we took a family trip to Port Aransas, Texas.  We have been wanting to take the girls to the beach – why not!?  We only live a few hours from the beach!  Why don’t we go more often??  We had SO MUCH fun and already planning a trip back in the fall.

5 Years – can it be?!

July 24, 2009

Our WeddingToday is our five year anniversary!  Crazy!  It’s hard to believe it’s been 5 years already.  Some times it’s hard to imagine my life without Matt in it.  But, after watching our wedding video today, it seems like just yesterday.

It’s been a great 5 years.  The best 5 years of my life.  We’ve been through so much over the past 5 years and it’s exciting to think about what God has in store for us in the coming 5, 10, 15, and 50 years!

Grace and Alyssa loved seeing Mommy and Daddy in the video.  Alyssa said, “Mommy!  Daddy!” over and over.  Grace kept saying, “I want to go there!”  She’s obsessed with weddings and adores all the pretty stuff that comes with it.

Some dear friends of ours watched the girls for us tonight so we could celebrate.  We skimmed through books at the Book People bookstore, checked out the latest goods at Whole Foods, took pictures of the city skyline (& each other) at Butler Park, ate dinner at Texas Land & Cattle, got our favorite Turbo coffee drinks at Jo’s, walked around downtown, picked up a few groceries at Newflower Market, and then went to our friends’ house to pick up the girls.  It was a night sprinkled with a bunch of our favorite things.  What a great date night!!!

The real celebration comes next Friday when we head to Mexico!  The girls are “vacationing” at Minima & Bapa’s house while we take a “just the two of us” trip to Mexico.  It’s the first time we’ve been away overnight from the girls.  5 days and 4 nights.

Great anniversary.  Looking forward to all the years to come…
