What they are saying

April 10, 2010

Since my last post, Grace turned 4 and Alyssa is now 2 years old. WOW! How time flies.

Speaking of flies…if you were a fly on our wall, here is what you would hear our girls saying…

This morning Grace stood on the couch (which she knows is disobeying). After I told her she disobeyed, she said, “I’ll go pray to God about it.” She proceeded to go behind our couch (the girls like to hang out back there) and I heard her say, “Hello, God. I’m sorry for standing on the couch. Goodbye, God.” Then she told me, “I prayed to God about it.”

Matt left his car at the TV station last night, so we took him to work this afternoon. On the way there I hear Grace talking to Jesus and say something about Dad at work. When she finished, she told us, “Daddy, I prayed for you at work today. (long pause) And God said to turn left on Burnet.” We laughed! Matt said, “Did God tell you we need to turn left on Burnet?” Grace said, “Well, actually Jesus did.”

Grace and Alyssa played hide-and-seek. Grace hid…Alyssa was counted…”1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10…8,10,8,10…”

On the way home after dropping Matt off at work, Alyssa kept asking “Where’s Daddy? What’s Daddy doing? Where we going?” Over…and over…and over…and over…

After we left church a few weeks ago, Matt asked Grace, “Why did Jesus die on the cross?” Without hesitation she said, “for our sins.” Our jaws dropped. It was awesome!!

Alyssa also likes to call people “hun hun” instead of “honey.” And, my super favorite thing that she says which melts my heart every time…”snuggle me”

That’s just a handful of things. I wish I could keep up with everything because they are stinkin’ hilarious. They make us laugh multiple times a day. Sweet blessings.
